Yesterday’s Scores

The Cubs blew the game open with a seven-run first inning highlighted by Carson Kelly’s grand slam and never looked back as their bats kept piling on runs in the middle innings.

After the White Sox briefly moved ahead on a sixth-inning homer, the Tigers answered right back in the bottom of the sixth on Kerry Carpenter’s two-run double to take the lead for good.

The Yankees rode a pair of second-inning homers from Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Ben Rice and tacked on an eighth-inning RBI single to shut out the Reds.

The Marlins turned a one-run deficit into a win with a two-run seventh inning, tying it on a Jon Berti Hicks RBI single before Griffin Caissie’s sac fly put them ahead.

The Rays flipped the game with Jonathan Aranda’s three-run homer in the third and added insurance on a Jonny DeLuca solo shot in the eighth.

The Braves grabbed the lead in the sixth and survived a tense ninth after Brice Turang’s RBI single cut it to one with the tying run thrown out at home.

After the Padres’ five-run first was immediately erased by a six-run Rangers response, Texas broke a tie in the fourth and then answered San Diego’s eighth-inning homer with a Wyatt Langford blast in the bottom half.

The Astros stormed past an early deficit with a power surge led by a three-run Jose Altuve homer and two long balls from Jeremy Peña as the lead grew late.

The Royals built a four-run fourth and held on despite a three-run Cardinals ninth that brought the tying run to the plate.

The Rockies answered the Pirates’ three-run eighth with a two-run double in the bottom of the inning to pull off the comeback.

The Athletics erased a seven-run Angels fourth and a late deficit by tying it on a two-run ninth-inning homer before walking it off with a bases-loaded walk in the 10th.

The Diamondbacks broke it open with a four-run fifth and then put it away with a three-run Corbin Carroll triple in the eighth after the Twins homered twice to close within one.

The Dodgers rallied in the ninth, first on a Mookie Betts solo homer and then on a walk-off single that cashed in two runs on throwing errors to stun the Orioles.

The Red Sox erupted for four runs in the seventh and kept adding on as the Mariners managed only a two-run homer in the ninth.
